Dragons, A Love Story

What do Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon, Gucci, and shiny butterflies have in common? They all come together to form the creative mind of Destiny Nicole, known by her stage name Wavy Spice. The New York based hip-hop artist released her first track, "Destiny", in 2012, but really caught everyone's attention with "Bitch I'm Posh" later that year. Essentially, an anthem for the women who live lavishly and rock designer clothes. In about two years time, Wavy Spice has finally hatched from her designer chrysalis.

Reborn as Princess Nokia, she brings us "Metallic Butterfly". Teaming up with NY producer OWWWLS, the two create a album full of diverse sounds and styles. It's hard to pin a genre on this album but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The diversity shows the true talent of Princess Nokia and her ability to adapt to any musical environment. Be sure to give the album a listen below.

Some may have heard of Princess Nokia when she was featured on the Ratking track "Puerto Rican Judo" under the name of Wavy Spice. The track shares a story of the love between Patrick Morales, better known as "Wiki" of Ratking, and Princess Nokia herself.

"And i got something for you patty/ Be your Puerto Rican misses/ Cook you up sofrito and cover you in kisses" - Princess Nokia (Puerto Rican Judo)

The love between these two grows stronger with the music video for "Dragons". A love song inspired by Princess Nokia's infatuation with the relationship between Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo of the HBO series Game of Thrones. Spending a day in the arcade, curling up in bed to some comics, and drinking 40s in the shower, this is true love

Be sure to catch Princess Nokia at Afropunk Festival, August 23-24, 2014 at Commodore Barry Park, Brooklyn, NY!!!
