Who is ZelooperZ?

Back in 2011, hip-hop artist Danny Brown released the album "XXX". This album released for free online had critics raving and attracted a lot of attention, and later that year Spin Magazine named it the #1 hip-hop album of the year. If you have not heard of Danny Brown I really suggest you look him up before you read further.

Since then Danny Brown has only been writing more to his legendary story, which doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.  Releasing "Old" in 2013 drew even more attention to the wild kimono bearing artist, the album featured artists Purity Ring, Freddie Gibbs, Schoolboy Q, and more. Danny's small collective, "The Bruiser Brigade", has progressivley been creating a subculture within the genre itself and due to media it quickly became evident that ZelooperZ was a part of it.

One song which surfaced quicker than others due to popularity was "Kush Coma" which featured Asap Rocky and ZelooperZ.  ZelooperZ, a twenty year old artist from Detroit went in on the hook but went unnoticed by many due to the fact that was his only contribution to the song. Some time goes by and now the hype is unreal, people begging on twitter for the next single to drop.

I learned a lot about this artist when given the opportunity to take some photos of ZelooperZ while at the Bowery Ballroom, NYC. For a start he's still really young. When comparing him to other rappers of the similar age I have to say that he's on top much in due to the fact his live performance is phenominal. Seeing him perform live, I can say it is very questionable to as if he is actually himself on stage. Other than a bit of guidance from his co-Bruiser and producer SKYWLKR, ZelooperZ is full of a possessive energy that can't be tamed and delivers the wildest vocals I have ever heard. Also note that this was the first time he was on tour, one reason some people in the crowd just watched in awe, while others knew immediately he was someone to look out for in the future.

This music isn't traditional hip-hop, as you can notice a bit of an influence from Danny himself, but it is a must listen.

ZelooperZ has an album on the near horizon and we all couldn't be more excited. Keep your eyes open for updates and be sure to check out his newest track "Saggin" which can be found here.
